Breast cancer support

At 62, Sonya’s world shifted with one phone call, she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. In a single moment, the future she had carefully imagined relaxing into retirement, exploring new places, cherishing time with family suddenly felt uncertain. Everything familiar seemed to blur as fear settled in.

Even with her loved ones by her side, offering comfort and strength, Sonya faced a quiet storm inside. The physical demands of cancer treatment were grueling, but the emotional toll cut even deeper. From endless appointments, to the nasty burning, tingling and pain in her hands from the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation, each day felt like an uphill climb with no clear end in sight.

Breast cancer affects so many; 1 in 8 women in the U.S. and yet each journey is deeply personal. The causes are complex, and while medical treatments have come a long way, healing isn't just about medicine. It’s about navigating exhaustion, changes in identity, and the emotional weight that lingers far beyond diagnosis.

In her search for something that could bring relief, peace and balance back into her life, Sonya came across Peachtree City Acupuncture. She wasn’t sure what to expect—only that she needed a space that felt safe, human, and healing.

Her first visit felt like a breath of fresh air. The space was calm and welcoming, and for the first time in a long time, someone really listened. Dr. Frank didn’t just ask about Sonya’s symptoms—she wanted to understand her experience, her fears, and what healing looked like for her.

Together, they created a treatment plan centered on neuropathy— preventing the horrible burning pains from her chemotherapy, easing the toll of past treatments, lifting her energy, and calming her mind. It wasn’t long before Sonya began noticing small but powerful shifts: less pain, deeper sleep, less fatigue, and a quiet sense of hope returning.

“As the weeks went on, my hands didn't burn as much as they used too,” Sonya shares. “I could even open a jar without help! These wins might seem small to someone else, but for me, it gave me the strength to keep moving forward.”

Now, with her treatment behind her and clear scans in hand, Sonya continues her treatments as part of her long-term wellness routine. She credits the care she received from the amazing doctors and staff Peachtree City Acupuncture—for helping her rebuild not just her health, but her spirit.

As Sonya steps into her next chapter, she encourages everyone she meets in her survivors meetings to try Peachtree City Acupuncture.
